Hi, I'm Maryam, Merm is my name said quickly so the nickname stuck. It also sounds like a car noise and I can drive, so that's useful.

Since 2010, I’ve been experimenting with developing my skills and processes - So I'm a 'hands-on' kind of person.
Finding inspiration everywhere I look, from daily life, my heritage, or video games, I'm always looking for creative solutions. I enjoy making things out of other things and putting them into big ideas.

Master of Arts: Design
My work had taken many forms, changing from my early work using brown paper and neutral colours, to the use of bold colours and graphic aesthetics. My inspiration stems from my love of pastel colours, anime, nature and more traditional and post-colonial imagery. Recently I have been drawn to how images and design can create a narrative that is reflected in my work. A picture can say a thousand words and that is what I express through my art.
